At Gelbarts Gym we have built a training system over many years of consulting & studying the needs of our unique cliental. When you join Gelbarts Gym, we carefully screen what you are trying to achieve and also any unique aspects of your own personal lifestyle or wellness history that have been barriers to you achieving your goal in the past. Once identified, using our 12 Point Wellness Consultation & Personal Training Introduction Package, we carefully craft your own individual exercise and accountability plan which encompasses the Gelbarts Gym 5 Pillars of Health and Wellness – Exercise, Nutrition, Sleep, Calmness Cleaner Living.

In order for you to achieve your goal, we will provide the platform for consistent, continuous & ongoing training as part of your weekly lifestyle routine. We recommend at least 120 -150 minutes of quality, meaningful training per week consisting mainly of some interval cardio-vascular training & mostly strength / resistance training. Your expert trainer will construct an even balance of both these methods that best fits with your lifestyle, time management and personal preference.

You will benefit most by adding a further 30-60 minutes per week – on top of your weekly training sessions – for preventative maintenance practices (i.e. activation, flexibility, foam roller, mobility, stretching, yoga, pilates, massage & other allied health treatment techniques). This is crucial so that you are always able to train at your optimum. Your expert trainer will identify and coach you in best practice for your individual needs and practice these with you at the start of every session if required.

Every 6-12 months, you should undergo another 12 Point Wellness Assessment at Gelbarts Gym to assess your exact body composition results & other important metrics such as your waist girth, blood pressure, body fat %, muscle % & other important biological markers.

Under the guidance of our team of expert, experienced & professional Personal Trainers, you will be motivated and guided through every session with precise detail in your exercise technique and training intensity. Your trainers will do whatever it takes to help you achieve your personal goals and Lifelong Personal Best Body.

Your Personal Trainers follow the Gelbarts Gym 11 Key Principles of Personal Training which include compassionate delivery of safe and excellent sessions every time you attend. You will feel sensational on the day you train and you will feel more motivated to achieve your longer-term goals.

As a member of Gelbarts Gym, you are part of a close knit and intimate community of fellow fitness seekers. Our small group shared sessions are great fun and many fantastic friendships and relationships have been built at the gym. Your fellow training partners will be among your highest motivating factors in continuing to train at the gym especially on those sluggish days. We are proud of the community and culture that the trainers and clients have created at the gym.

We have carefully chosen modern, commercial equipment that best suits our client base and our equipment is kept top notch with regular servicing. Our gym is also regularly cleaned so that you are always training in a hygienic environment.

We especially welcome clients who have previously struggled in their attempts to get in shape or clients that feel uncomfortable in larger membership style gyms and those with competitive, single disciplined training programs.

Small Group Training

4:1 Small Group Classes (19-69y.o) – 45-60 Minutes

These focussed & continuous sessions are best suited for clients that have completed their PT Intro Pack and have been assessed by the trainer as suited to these Group Training Sessions. This decision will be based on their overall strength & fitness levels, their understanding of our gym equipment, safe training practices and ability to integrate into a group of up to 8 people without needing 100% supervision and guidance during every set / repetition.

These sessions typically consist of (approx):
7-10 minutes Preventative Maintenance (PM) = activation, mobility, core strength,
10-15 minutes of interval, cardio training (including boxing if desired),
25 -30 minutes of strength, weights & resistance training.
3-5 minutes of stretching / cool down.

Some of the sessions in this category are designated weights / strength only session with minimal interval cardio-vascular training. This will be highlighted in the title on our online Mindbody booking system and on other timetables that we distribute.
These sessions are very focused and continuous so discussions about your diet or other topics should be held at a separate time which can be arranged with your trainer during a separate, private consultation.

4:1 Express Small Group Classes (19-69y.o) – 30 Minutes
If time is not on your side and you need to maximize the efficiency of your day, then these sessions are definitely for you. Arrive 5-10 minutes early to warm-up as we will try and hit the ground running right at the start of these sessions.

Your expert trainer will pack as much as possible into your session including cardio, strength & core work leaving you feeling, fit, alert, energized and ready to take on the rest of your busy day. These focused & continuous sessions are best suited for clients that have completed their PT Intro Pack and have been assessed by the trainer as suited to these Group Training Sessions. This decision will be based on their overall strength & fitness levels, their understanding of our gym equipment, safe training practices and ability to integrate into a group of up to 8 people without needing 100% supervision and guidance during every set / repetition.

Some of the sessions in this category are designated weights / strength only session with minimal interval cardio-vascular training. This will be highlighted in the title on our online Mindbody booking system and on other timetables that we distribute.

KIDS ONLY (KO) High Performance Training Classes.
• Gelbarts Kids Only sessions are aimed at Grade 4 – Year 12 athletes who are looking to increase their speed, power, agility, endurance and strength to improve sports performance.
• Safe & Professionally Instructed.
• Ideal for AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL, SOCCER, TENNIS, NETBALL, BASKETBALL, CRICKET & MORE.
• All Sessions 45 minutes
• At Gelbarts Gym, we adhere to 5 golden rules for KO Training. Much like a pre-flight briefing, we explain these rules to our kids before every single session.
• Powerbands are safe for all ages provided the band strength is appropriate and their technique is perfect.
• General principles and focus for Kids strength training:
• Posture, core, perfect technique, breathing, slowness, not too heavy, not too often. Introduction to basic nutrition and sleep guidelines & post training nutrition.
• Known as the best gym in the area for kids training.

Gelbarts Gym Guidelines for all Kids Only Training Classes
Year 4-6:
Speed, agility, power and fitness / endurance.
“Body weight and power-band use only” for strength and core strength exercises. Eg: core, push ups, squats, plank, lunges etc.
We get your Kids Fitter, Faster & Tougher.
We operate according to our 5 Golden Rules of Training.
We find your Child’s Strengths and Praise them for it.
We set Targets and Goals in every session.
Classes usually consist of speed, agility, plyometrics, balance, core strength, endurance & fitness exercises and circuits.
If they haven’t trained at Gelbarts Gym, they haven’t trained!

Year 7-8
An upgrade on Grade 4-6 classes with the introduction of light Dumb-Bell, Kettle-Bell and Y-Bell exercises.
4-5kg maximum as a guide provided technique is perfect.
At Gelbarts Gym Kids Only Classes:
We get your Kids Fitter, Faster & Tougher.
We operate according to our 5 Golden Rules of Training.
We find your Child’s Strengths and Praise them for it.
We set Targets and Goals in every session.
Classes usually consist of speed, agility, plyometrics, balance, core strength, endurance & fitness exercises and circuits.
If they haven’t trained at Gelbarts Gym, they haven’t trained!

Year 9 +
Introduction to the weights machines area. Obviously weights can increase gradually provided technique is perfect.
Run by our strength training expert Sean Raso, the focus is on strength and resistance training for teenagers that are new to the gym environment. We will mentor you on all of the safety, technical and biological aspects of a strength training program and ensure that you get results in a safe and lasting way.

We limit the numbers to 6 teens per class so that your child gets maximum supervision and attention to detail in their session.
